The inaugural Riyadh Fashion Week showcased Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi’s latest collection, 8pm, which celebrated his Saudi heritage and the cosmopolitan glamor of Riyadh. Ashi’s designs effortlessly combined traditional local looks with avant-garde contemporary statement pieces, reflecting the beauty of the desert at night. The collection featured long robes, dresses, and pant suits with elaborate sculpted puff sleeves, fringe, and embellished trails. While white dominated the collection, there were also pops of color, including metallic robes, a crimson pant suit, and a magenta dress. Ashi, who has made history as the first Saudi designer to join haute couture, draws inspiration from his Saudi roots and often incorporates Saudi heritage in his designs.
