UK’s Trade Mission to Japan Sets New G7 Summit Expectations

The upcoming trade mission led by Business and Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch to Japan aims to boost UK exports to the Japanese market, particularly in the luxury fashion industry. This mission, the first of its kind since 2017, follows a roundtable discussion in London where delegates highlighted the exciting opportunities in Japan. The visit seeks to increase UK fashion goods exports to Japan, with the goal of hitting £1 trillion worth of UK exports by 2030. Additionally, the Trade Secretary will announce the largest ever UK government-backed renewables export deal in partnership with Japan, worth over £130 million in UK made parts. This deal will further strengthen the trade relationship between the two countries and support the offshore wind industry in the UK.
