The upcoming Thrive Salisbury – Senior Life After 55 event is set to take place on Friday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Commonwealth Senior Living in Salisbury. This free event is open to the public and offers older adults a range of activities, services, and demonstrations.
The event is presented by Salisbury Independent/ BayToBayNews.com in partnership with Commonwealth Senior Living and is made possible by event sponsors Chesapeake Health Care, the Law Office of Mariann Batie, and Coastal Bath Co./Bath Planet of Delmarva. With about 20 exhibitors participating, attendees can expect to find loads of information on leading a healthy and long life.
The Thrive open house will feature vendors, exhibitors, food, entertainment, and giveaways. Attendees can meet face-to-face with businesses and community organizations in a relaxed atmosphere to gather the information they are looking for. Door prizes and gift baskets provided by vendors are always a crowd favorite.
Complimentary coffee and pastries will be provided by sponsor BrightStar Care, and lunch will also be available for purchase on-site. The event aims to not only provide information but also create a sense of community and camaraderie among older adults by sharing life experiences and priorities.
In addition to the various activities and services, local groups will give hands-on demonstrations to help make life easier for older adults. FOX Rehabilitation will showcase stretching with bands, and Commonwealth Senior Living will offer tours and showcase their MyndVR virtual reality experience.
Entertainment sponsor Holloway Funeral Home will provide fun activities such as Bingo with prizes, karaoke with Janelle DeShields, and a performance by Peter’s Voice Trio. These activities aim to engage and entertain attendees throughout the day.
