Hepsiburada’s ‘Trade and Technology Empowerment’ Fuels TRY 1.9 Billion Trade Volume, Transforming Earthquake Region

The “Trade and Technology Empowerment for the Earthquake Region” program implemented by Hepsiburada has achieved significant results in promoting economic growth and empowerment in the earthquake region of Turkey.

In a press release, Hepsiburada, a leading Turkish e-commerce platform, announced the six-month results of its program aimed at supporting businesses in the earthquake region. Since the program’s launch in March 2023, the number of active merchants in the region has reached 15,000, with 1,700 new businesses joining Hepsiburada’s platform to sell their products online. This increase in active sellers has led to a total of 4.7 million products being sold, generating a trade volume exceeding TRY 1.9 billion.

One notable aspect of the program is its focus on empowering women entrepreneurs and women’s cooperatives. The trade volume generated by 2,980 women entrepreneurs and cooperatives reached TRY 124 million, highlighting the positive impact of the program in promoting gender equality and economic opportunities for women in the region.

To further support merchants in the earthquake region, Hepsiburada established an E-Commerce Specialization Center in Adana in July 2023. This center provides on-the-ground support for existing merchants and offers training courses and programs for those new to the e-commerce market. Over a thousand merchants have already benefited from these training courses, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the online marketplace.

In addition to its economic impact, the program has also demonstrated a commitment to social responsibility. Hepsiburada has reached more than 3,500 children in the region through its social responsibility activities, contributing to the overall well-being and development of the community.

The success of the program can be attributed, in part, to Hepsiburada’s digital marketing support for merchants. By offering assistance in promoting their products and reaching a wider customer base, Hepsiburada has helped boost sales for merchants, resulting in a 27% increase in orders compared to the period before the program’s launch.

Looking ahead, the program is expected to continue for two years, providing ongoing support and opportunities for businesses in the earthquake region. Hepsiburada’s commitment to empowering local entrepreneurs and promoting economic growth in the region is commendable, and the results achieved so far demonstrate the positive impact of such initiatives.
