Gaza Strip’s Internet Reborn: A Look into the Long-awaited Revival

The internet connectivity in the Gaza Strip is gradually being restored after being disrupted for nearly two days due to heavy Israeli bombardment, according to global network monitor Netblocks. This restoration comes at a critical moment when residents were cut off from the outside world. Palestine Telecommunications (Paltel) and Jawwal Telecommunication Company have also confirmed the gradual restoration of landline, cellular, and internet connectivity. However, Qatari-owned telecommunications company Ooredoo has not provided any update on the resumption of services. The communication blackout in Gaza has severely impacted emergency calls and critical ambulance services. The Israeli military has urged citizens to move to safer areas in the south of the territory, where humanitarian efforts will be expanding.
