Bobby Brazier: From EastEnders Star to Modelling Sensation, His Dazzling Journey on Strictly Come Dancing

Bobby Brazier, known for his role as Freddie Slater in EastEnders, is set to compete in this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing. Despite having no previous acting experience, Brazier impressed producers and landed the role in September last year. Apart from his television work, the 20-year-old has also worked as a model for Dolce & Gabbana, making his runway debut in Milan. He has been seen sitting front row at London Fashion Week alongside Formula One star Lewis Hamilton.

Brazier’s late mother, Jade Goody, was a contestant on the third season of Big Brother in 2002 and rose to fame. She passed away at the age of 27 in 2009 from cervical cancer. Goody’s public image softened following her diagnosis in 2008, and her illness was credited with increasing the number of cervical screenings among younger women. Bobby and his younger brother Freddy were raised by TV presenter Jeff Brazier after their mother’s death. Bobby has limited memories of his mother and mostly knows her through other people’s recollections.

In an interview with The Times, Bobby described himself as a spiritual person who embarked on a journey of self-discovery after leaving school at 16. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he took time to meditate and reflect on his identity. He sees spirituality as a form of therapy, believing that people experience certain traumas because they are ready to heal and help others heal as well.

Bobby’s participation in Strictly Come Dancing will be an exciting opportunity for him to showcase his talents beyond acting and modeling. With his unique background and personal journey, he brings a fresh perspective to the competition.
