Amanda’s Surprising Career Move: From ‘The Traitors’ to Homes Under the Hammer!

The popular BBC show Homes Under the Hammer is celebrating its 20th anniversary with special celebrity-hosted episodes and a look back at memorable moments from the past.

Homes Under the Hammer, a long-running auction program that explores the process of buying and renovating properties, is marking its 20th anniversary with a series of special episodes. Each episode will feature a celebrity host, a new property, and a memorable moment from the show’s archives.

The anniversary celebrations kick off with Martin Roberts and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen in Bristol, followed by Martel Maxwell and Alex Jones in London. The celebrity hosts will also present the segment “Let’s find out what happened when it went under the hammer” before meeting the successful new owners.

Later in the year, Dion Dublin will be joined by Toyah Willcox in Birmingham, Jacqui Joseph will co-present with Owain Wyn Evans in Wales, and Tommy Walsh will be helped by Amanda Lovett in Buckinghamshire. Amanda Lovett, known for being one of the best “traitors” on the BBC reality series The Traitors, will assist Tommy Walsh in his episode.

Homes Under the Hammer has produced over 1,450 episodes and has traveled all over the UK during its 20-year run. The show has become a beloved and enduring favorite among viewers.

Host Martin Roberts expressed his pride in being part of the show for its entire 20-year history, stating that he never expected to still be saying the iconic line “let’s find out what happened when it went ‘under the hammer'” after all these years. Co-host Dion Dublin also expressed his privilege in being part of the show for the past nine years and hoped it would continue for another 20 years.

Muslim Alim, Commissioning Editor Factual Daytime Commissioning, praised Homes Under the Hammer as one of the heroes of BBC Daytime and a factual entertainment triumph. He promised that audiences can expect lots of entertainment in the anniversary episodes, as celebrities join the presenters as property experts and revisit favorite past properties from the show’s rich archive.

The special anniversary episodes of Homes Under the Hammer will air on Friday, November 17th, at 11:15 am on BBC One and iPlayer.
