An Innovative Approach to Home Care Recruitment Earns Home Instead Aberdeen Nominations for British Recruitment Awards

Home Instead Aberdeen has been recognized for its innovative strategies in recruiting new care professionals and meeting the growing demand for home care. The company’s efforts have earned them nominations for ‘In-House Recruitment Team of the Year’ and ‘Leader of the Year’ at the prestigious British Recruitment Awards.

In the face of pandemic-induced recruitment challenges, Home Instead Aberdeen has taken bold steps to address the shortage of care professionals. The company’s recruitment campaign, which highlighted care as a valuable career route, impressed the British Recruitment Awards. The campaign also addressed the stigma surrounding financial stability in the care sector.

One of the key initiatives of the campaign was the launch of the impactful #MenCanCare campaign. By promoting guaranteed income and salaried contracts, Home Instead Aberdeen saw a remarkable increase in applicants. Over the past six months, 20% of their newly recruited care staff were male, doubling from only 10% in the previous six months.

Under the leadership of Fiona Lauder, the Group Recruitment and Retention Manager, Home Instead Aberdeen established an internal recruitment team. This team rapidly expanded from three to seven members, resulting in a significant improvement in recruitment and retention rates. Applications increased by 62%, while employee turnover reduced by 36%.

Suhail Rehman, the owner of Home Instead Aberdeen, expressed his delight at the results of their recruitment campaign. He stated that their creative approach has attracted passionate care professionals who deeply value the support and care they provide to older adults. Rehman also mentioned that the company is honored to be nominated for the British Recruitment Awards and looks forward to continuing to make a difference in the care sector.

Fiona Lauder, who has been nominated for ‘Leader of the Year’, expressed her excitement about the nomination. She acknowledged the achievements of the recruitment campaign and expressed her enthusiasm for the future at Home Instead Aberdeen with their dedicated team.

The British Recruitment Awards will take place on Wednesday, November 8th at Salsa! In Temple Place, London.
