Lara Parker, Iconic ‘Dark Shadows’ Star, Passes Away at 84: A Legacy That Transcends Generations

Lara Parker, known for her role as Angelique Bouchard on Dark Shadows, passed away at the age of 84. Her daughter confirmed that she peacefully passed away in her sleep at her home in Los Angeles. Parker had a successful career in both film and television, making her mark in movies like Save the Tiger and Race With the Devil. She auditioned for Dark Shadows in 1967 and was cast as Angelique, a vengeful witch who cursed the tormented vampire Barnabas Collins. Parker’s character and storyline became iconic in the gothic soap opera. Born in Tennessee, Parker pursued her education and worked as an assistant before becoming an actress. She later transitioned to teaching and writing, penning four Dark Shadows novels. Parker remained involved in the Dark Shadows franchise through audio productions and also appeared in the 2012 remake of the show. She is survived by her second husband, children, and grandson.
